Telangana: Southwest monsoon to pick up the pace, but not in Hyderabad.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, issued a heavy rainfall warning for the next 24 hours. Rain is expected to make a comeback in all districts of Telangana, except Hyderabad.

IMD warns that heavy rain is expected to lash isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Rajanna Siricalla, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Warangal, Mahabubabad, Bhadadri Kothagudem and Khammam, bringing much relief.

Hyderabad may receive scattered rain as the weather system will not be in proximity of the capital city. These rainfall activities are expected to continue for another 24 to 48 hours. The temperature will also see a drop due to these weather activities.

The southwest monsoon has been weak in Telangana from the last two weeks. In a relief to the denizens, the IMD, Hyderabad, predicted a revival of southwest monsoon during this week with the formation of an upper cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.

According to IMD, from June 1 to August 7, 2018, Hyderabad city has received 37% deficit seasonal rainfall. That has been one of the top five districts in Telangana which has received deficient rainfall. While the normal rainfall in the city during this period is 316.2mm, it has received only 199.7mm of rainfall.
