Tension in OU after ABVP, AISF students clash

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed around Osmania University campus in Hyderabad after a group of ABVP students allegedly objected AISF student’s effigy burning event against BJP led Union Government.

According to Times of India reports, it all started on Saturday afternoon when AISF student activists assembled at Art College and staged protest demanding lifting of sedition charge against JNU Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar.

Around 20 ABVP students who were already near Arts College strongly objected which results in clash between them.
“For organising protest against Union government demanding lifting of sedition charge, ABVP activists attacked us.

We were called anti-nationals by ABVP members. Few of our members from AISF got injured,” A Shankar, one of the AISF members who was part of the protest programme told TOI.

Acting on tip-off, OU police took students involved in the clash into custody reportedly shifted them to OU police station.
