Congress complains to EC on TS LS polls

Hyderabad: Complaining to EC on LS polls irregularities and discrepancies in Telangana, Congress senior leader Renuka Chowdhary today lashed out at Telangana Government for flaws and lapses in Intermediate examination results and reported irregularities which led to suicides by students.

A team of Congress leaders, including Renuka Choudhary, Marri Shashidhar Reddy and Niranjan complained to the Election Commission in Delhi on the alleged irregularities in Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to the media later, they demanded a probe into the Lok Sabha poll-related discrepancies and irregularities to unravel facts. They expressed doubts on the electioneering seeing lakhs of votes polled after 5 pm. While in several segments like Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Nizamabad and Khammam a number of votes polled in lakhs after 5 pm, the same at Vikarabad segment was down by 5 per cent, they said. The Congress leaders demanded that the EC disclose to people on how many call chits were given to the voters in queue after 5 pm.

They alleged that the State government failed to hold Intermediate examinations in a proper way that led to failure and suicides by students. It is unfortunate that the students taking extreme steps which should not happen, she felt. On Lok Sabha polls, Renuka expressed confidence that the Congress will win majority of seats.
