Terrified Muslims fled the city ahead of VHP’s Dharma Sabha

AYODHYA: Some terrified Muslim families have temporary migration and sent their children, women and older people away from Ayodhya ahead of the Dharma Sabha called by the VHP in Ayodhya on November 25 to support the Ram Temple construction movement in the city.

“Muslims in Ayodhya are terrified ahead of the VHP’s Dharam Sabha”, Zafaryab Jilani, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board said on Saturday, reported India Today.

Jilani, who is also a senior counsel, said, “The Muslims in Ayodhya are terrified…we have asked those feeling insecure to come to Lucknow if they want,” Jilani said. “We are keeping an eye on the developments and will look into them if something happens.”

Another resident Manzoor Ahmed,added that they were sent to Sultanpur, Lucknow and other cities. “Humne apni bahu, betiyon aur bacchon ko unke-unke ghar bhej diya hai ki kahin mahaul na kharab ho jae yahan (We have sent our daughters-in-law and children to their maternal homes, fearing security threat here).”

The VHP, a right-wing Hindu group, has called for the public meeting in Ayodhya on Sunday where prominent Hindu seers were likely to spell out their stand and strategy for construction of a grand Ram temple.

The massive rally began at at 11 a.m. Section 144 has already been clamped and para-military forces deployed on all major roads and intersections.
