Texas Shooting: Gunman looked for survivors to kill

Washington: According to a media report released, the gunman Devin Kelley who killed 26 persons inside a church in US went on looking for survivors to execute through the church benches(pews) as reported by a Spanish couple who luckily survived the attacked.

The shooting happened at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs which killed 26 people and wounded 20 others. Roxana Solis and Joaquin Ramirez are among the 20 gravely injured survivors in the attack. Roaxana Solis was shot in the shoulder during the attack.

The report said that this Spanish couple were sitting in the first row of the church when the gunman barged in and opened fire.

According to the couple survivors the gunman first targets were the young teenagers who were busy recording the church service which is always done on Sunday’s and then he targeted his gun towards the church’s musicians.

The woman said, “After feeling the shot, I played dead. I tried to be as quiet as possible so that the shooter thought that I, too, had died, adding that It seemed like a rain of bullets.”
Freeman Martin Texas Department of Public Safety official said they found more than hundred of shell casings inside the church along with 15 empty 30-round ammunition clips.

Recalling the incident the survivor couple said that the gunman seemed “savage” towards the Kids present inside the church. The mother’s of these kids “tried to defend their kids by putting themselves in front” begging him for mercy but he did not spare them.

Ramirez Solis could only manage to escape but even he was shot in the shoulder while escaping the church.

He immediately called 911 and reported the attack after he managed to run a few yards.
The survivor says he is having trouble sleeping since the attack.
“The daughter of the pastor asked me for help and I told her to keep silent, but the murderer discovered that she was alive and killed her,” he said.

The dead ranged from under two-years-old to 77, with the local Holcombe family being especially hard-hit and losing eight members in the massacre.

Kelley – who had a history of mental disorders and domestic abuse – was dressed in black and wearing a bullet-proof vest when he attacked the church in the heretofore quiet town some 45 km southeast of San Antonio.
