Third phase of LS polls: Muslim voters may play key role in more than 30 seats out of 115 – Here’re details

New Delhi: Voting began on Tuesday across 117 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 15 states and Union Territories as the third and the largest phase of the mega seven-phase electoral exercise kicked off.

Out of 117 constituencies, in more than 30 constituencies which are spread across Assam, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal, Muslim voters may play a key role. There is a considerable population of Muslims in these parliamentary constituencies.

It is also reported that from Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency, All India United Democratic Front (AIDUF) chief Badruddin Ajmal is seeking re-election whereas Dileshwar Kamat of Janata Dal (U) and Ranjit Ranjan of the Congress are contesting from Supaul constituency. In Araria, BJP has fielded Pradip Kumar Singh against Sarfaraz Alam of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

In two seats of Goa and many constituencies of Kerala, Christians have a large population.
