Thousands sign petition for Nobel Peace Prize to Jacinda Ardern

Christchurch: After the terror attack on two masajid of New Zealand, the demand for nominating Jacinda Ardern for Nobel Peace Prize is gathering momentum.

According to the report published in New Zealand Herald, two signature campaigns have been launched. In one of the campaigns which started three days back, thousands of persons have signed whereas on another French website, “Awaz.org” many signature have also been obtained.

In French media, it was reported that after the tragic incident of Christchurch Terror Attack, PM of New Zealand reacted sharply which was applauded throughout the world.

In recognition of her services, Jacinda Ardern’s hijab-clad picture was projected on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa on Friday night.

“New Zealand today fell silent in honour of the mosque attacks’ martyrs. Thank you PM @jacindaardern and New Zealand for your sincere empathy and support that has won the respect of 1.5 billion Muslims after the terrorist attack that shook the Muslim community around the world,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of UAE tweeted.

New York Times wrote an editorial “America also needs a good leader like Jacinda Ardern”. It also said that the world should learn a lesson from her.

In the said editorial, the way she handled the gun control issue was applauded.
