Three held for waylaying bus and snatching cash in city

Hyderabad: The Abid Road crime police have apprehended three accused, who allegedly assaulted an RTC Bus Driver and conductor and extorted cash of Rs 9,496 from the conductor on December 28 at 0515hrs at Law College, Basheer Bagh, on verifying the C.C. footage.

The principal accused was identified as Mohd Sarfaraz Uddin Khan alias doctor, 32, who deals in second hand bikes business at Ramkote and residing at Niyath Khana, Pardha Gate, King Kothi. His accomplices were Mohammed Muqtadar alias Muttu, a carpentor residing at Mallepally and Shabbar Hussain, 23, of Sardhar Bagh, Lunger House Mehdipatnam Ring Road.

Police said the trio, who came in a Verna car stopped the bus on December 28 at 5.15 am and terrorized the bus crew and snatched Rs 9496 from the conductor which was collected towards tickets fare. The desperadoes also inflicted huge blows on the face and body of the driver, who tried to intervene near Nizam Law College, Basheerbagh. The sleuths arrested the trio on Tuesday evening and recovered the stolen cash and seized the Verna Car AP 26P9359 which was used in the commission of offence.

It may be mentioned here that the Abids police installed over 122 CC Cameras in the limits of Abids P.S under Community CCTV Project and by verifying the sequels of the CC cameras more than 200 CC Cameras from Abid Road P.S. to Jubliee Hills P.S and also in Cyberabad limits, the registration number of the Verna Car AP 26P9359 was identified, through which the accused were caught at King Koti.
