Tragic incident: Six persons returning from dargah die in road accident, 10 others injured

Kurnool: In a road accident which occurred at Alwar Town of Adhoni Mandal of Kurnool District, six persons were killed and 10 received serious injuries. Two persons are reported to be in critical condition.

According to the details of the accident, the devotees were coming back in Tempo after visiting a dargah located at Ellarthi. Since the vehicle was frequently stopping on the road, the driver parked it in a corner of the road. A fast-moving lorry hit the tempo which killed six persons on the spot injuring 10 others. They were rushed to hospital.

The collector of Kurnool, Mr. Satyanarayana, SP of the District, Mr. P. Gopinath Jetty, Rajya Sabha MP, TG Venkatesh, MLA, Mr. SV Mohan Reddy, former Union Minister, Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy, YSR leader, Hafiz Khan rushed to the hospital to know the details.

Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. TG Venkatesh distributed Rs. 20000 to each of the 10 injured person to meet the treatment expenses. District Collector told that this serious accident which occurred on the occasion of the festival filled the people with grief.

The heirs of the deceased were granted an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each.

SP of the District, Mr. Jatty told that the vehicle had no indicator lamp which caused the accident. He also told that all the deceased persons were shifted to Adhoni Area Hospital for postmortem.

The deceased persons were identified as Sheikh Khaja, Sheikh Hasan, Haneef, Fatima, Asra and Sheikh Malik. They hail from the old city of Kurnool.
