Transgender and autistic children born to women who ‘act like men’: This Kerala teacher

Thiruvananthapuram: A Kerala teacher and self-styled student counsellor Dr Rajith Kumar in a show of absolute ineptitude, said ‘transgender and autistic kids are born to women who wear jeans and those who are rebels’. The teacher from a college in Kalady made the derogatory statements at an event and got highlighted even in front of the state government.

“When a woman degrades her womanhood, or a man degrades his manhood, the girl born to them will have the characteristics of a man. A child born to such a woman will be transgender,” Kumar said addressing a gathering. He added, “Good children are born to those men and women who live their lives as men and women. But, when a woman degrades her womanhood and a man degrades his manhood, the girl child born to the couple will have the character of a man. The child that she eventually gives birth to, will be born transgender.”

He called autism a ‘new disease’ and explained its cause with his own devised psychology. “The children born to rebel men and women have this new disease called autism,” he said.

Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Kerala, KK Shailaja released a statement on Sunday in response to Kumar’s outrageous remarks and barred all government departments and agencies from inviting him in their programmes.
