Transparent governance alone will help develop State: Shabbir

Leader of  Opposition in the Council  Mohammed Ali Shabbir today said his journey in the Council of  new State of  Telangana was more  dynamic and meaningful in serving the cause of the poor and downtrodden in the State.

 

Releasing a book on his  two-year functioning in the Telangana Council  from June 9, 2014 to March 31, 2016, Shabbir  Ali  said he was fortunate to  get an opportunity to serve the people in the Council after  his  active  role in the Assembly and also as a cabinet minister in the united Andhra Pradesh State. He said his role as Leader of Opposition in the Council was to suggest and advise  the TRS government in welfare measures  for the poor and  backward  sections of society.

 

Shabbir Ali said he had compiled speeches made in the TS Council  since its inception in  2014 that were relevant to people’s  welfare  and uplift of backward classes. Dr K Rosaiah, former Governor of  Tamil Nadu said the booklet will help to record the proceedings which can be referred for future references. He recalled his association with Council for over 22 years. Former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who was the chief guest and Council chairman Swami Goud also spoke.

 

Irrigation  Minister T Harish Rao was the guest of honour. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly  K Jana Reddy said the book written by Shabbir Ali will be useful for present and future legislatures. TNCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy congratulated Shabbir Ali for bringing out the book. Deputy Chairman N. Vidya Sagar, Deputy CM Mahmood Ali, MLCs P.Sudhakar Reddy, Ramchandar Reddy, Damodar Reddy, Akula Lalitha, Santosh Kumar, M.S. Prabhakar Rao and Legislature secretary Dr S Raja Sadaram were also present. (NSS)
