TRS leaders revolt against D. Srinivas, Likely to be axed

TRS Rajya Sabha member D. Srinivas is likely to be shown the door by the ruling party for alleged anti-party activities.

The former Congress President in the united Andhra Pradesh, Srinivas, though made an MLC in the Telangana State defected to the TRS and became a Rajya Sabha member. However ever since he joined the pink party, he seemed to have been side lined resulting in him sulking and keeping himself away from the party activities. His son joined the BJP and has been busy mobilising cadre in Nizamabad district. As a matter of fact Chief Minster K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter, K. Kavitha, is the ruling party’s Lok Sabha member from Nizamabad.

The district leaders have been unhappy with the induction of Srinivas into TRS and his son joining the BJP seemed to have added fuel to the fire as he has been contemplating to contest the Lok Sabha constituency as a nominee of the saffron party. The rumblings in the pink party concerning Srinivas seemed to have irked KCR who reportedly expressed his unhappiness in party meetings, especially on receiving complaints that the former Congress leader was hobnobbing to jump back into his parent body.

In a calculated move the MPs, MLAs and MLC belonging the TRS of Nizamabad district held a meeting in the party office of Kavitha and passed a resolution demanding suspension of Srinivas for alleged anti-party activities. A letter seemed to have been submitted by these leaders to the Chief Minister wherein the alleged anti-party actions of the party Rajya Sabha members was highlighted.

The TRS leaders in their representation to KCR pointed out that the ruling party had gained anything with the induction of Srinivas into the party and that more harm was being done to the party by his activities. Revealing that a representation has been given to the Chief Minister by the TRS leaders of Nizamabad district against Srinivas, Kavitha pointed out that the TRS leadership would not hesitate to take disciplinary action anyone harming the interests of the party. Even if commit any mistake, action would be initiated against me without any fear or favour, she observed.

In the meantime Srinivas, who is in New Delhi, is reportedly in constant touch with the Congress leadership. It is pertinent to note here that Srinivas, as President of erstwhile APCC had earned the appreciation and confidence of many central Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi. Thus at a time when the Congress party in Telangana state is making all out efforts to regain its strength and waging a relentless war against the TRS Government, the Congress leadership would not hesitate to utilize the Services of Srinivas.

Thus at a time when KCR is actively enforcing ” Operation Akarshan” to encourage defections and thus dent the opposition camps, the Congress leadership would be too happy to repay in the same style by making Srinivas to jump the ship, especially after the TRS has succeeded in weaning away a senior Congress leader like D. Nagender a few days back.

Against this background, speculations are rife that the TRS leadership would use the axe against Srinivas for alleged anti-party activities, especially after the ruling party leaders from Nizamabad district submitting a representation to the Chief Minister for initiating disciplinary action against.
