TRS leaders tense as CM rings some for Cabinet expansion

Hyderabad: Even as Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was expanding the much-delayed Cabinet on February 19, leaders of the ruling party are caught in the grip of tension and a sort of fear-psychosis of getting a chance.
At present, the cabinet has only two that is Chief Minister and Home Minister Mahamood Ali and there was a need of 16 more ministers for the full cabinet. This time, the cabinet may see some eight to 10 faces, including the old and new and KCR will allot them portfolios after the expansion at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday at 11.30 am. KCR plans to expand the cabinet further after the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

According to informed sources, the Chief Minister has already informed some of the leaders to attend the cabinet expansion ceremony at Raj Bhavan at 11.30 am. Those who reportedly got a call from the Chief Minister are: Errabelli Dayakar Rao, S Niranjan Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, Koppula Eshwar, Etala Rajender, Indrakaran Reddy, Malla Reddy and others.

It is learnt that KCR wants his son and Sircilla MLA K Tarakarama Rao to take care of the party affairs as working president. It is unlikely that T Harish Rao, Padma Rao, Lakshma Reddy and Jogu Ramanna will get a chance this time. Though they were asked to be present at the cabinet expansion ceremony, there are some more hopefuls in the party. It is unclear whether the Chief Minister will retain former ministers like KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Srinivas Yadav, and former Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy and others. There will be another round of the Cabinet expansion after Lok Sabha polls, it is learnt.
