Although ticket was given to 16 Muslim candidates by TRS for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections but many senior leaders were disappointed. TRS has announced 80 candidates so far of which 16 candidates are Muslims. Interestingly out of 38 old city wards only 12 Muslim candidates have been fielded.
Senior leaders of the party felt that injustice was done to minority leaders due to alliance with MIM. All the minority leaders that were associated with the party since its inception have been ignored in the process of ticket allotment. No consultation was made with senior minority leaders regarding ticket allotment and most of the candidates fielded are new comers in the party. It is said that a large umber of minority leaders had applied for tickets but due to alliance with MIM, strong contenders were ignored.
