Trump likes Taylor’s music ‘about 25 per cent less now’

Washington: Seems like Taylor Swift’s decision to break her silence on politics has triggered a storm as the United States President Donald Trump now likes the pop star’s tracks “about 25 per cent less.”

Trump, on Tuesday, reacted to Swift’s comments after she voiced her political opinions and endorsed Democratic candidate Phil Bredesen, a former governor, over Republican’s Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee’s Senate race.

Walking back towards reporters on the White House’s South Lawn after hearing the pop star’s name shouted at him, Trump said, ” Blackburn is doing a very good job in Tennessee. I’m sure Taylor Swift has nothing — or doesn’t know anything about her. Let’s say that I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, OK?”, reported CNN.

The ‘Shake it off’ singer took to Instagram and endorsed both Bredesen and Rep. Jim Cooper, a Democrat who is running for re-election to the House.

Breaking from her longstanding reluctance to weigh in on politics, she wrote, ” In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now.”

“She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives,” Swift wrote.

She concluded the post saying, “Educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.”
Her post majorly focused on her opposition to Blackburn, whose voting record, according to Swift, is “terrifying.”
