Trump to revoke work permits of H-4 visa soon

Washington: Months after speculations over US’s move of revoking work permit of H-1B visa spouses, Trump administration has finally made it clear about its decision to the federal court today.

The decision to revoke the work permits to H-4 visa holders is expected within the next three months said the US Department, TOI reports.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told the US District Court in Columbia that it was “making a solid and swift progress in proposing to remove from its regulations certain H-4 spouses of H-1B non-immigrants as a class of aliens eligible for employment authorization,” adding that the new rule will soon be submitted in the White House in the next three months.

The department urged the court to hold its judgment in the lawsuit filed by Save Jobs USA which represents a group of US workers who claimed that the government’s policy has affected their jobs.

Earlier, the Trump administration has declared that his government wants to revoke the work permits to H-$ visa holders which would directly hit a majority of Indian-Americans and women, spouses.
