TS alone giving Crop Investment to farmers: KTR

Municipal and Textiles Minister KT Rama Rao today claimed that Telangana is the only State in the country providing irrigation and drinking waters as also crop investment to farmers.

Giving away cheques and land passbooks to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme here at Vilasagar village in Boinapally mandal of Choppadandi segment in Rajanna Siricilla district, the minister promised to develop roads and lakes in the area. “We have taken up revolutionary program of restoring 46,000 lakes, water bodies across the State under Mission Kakatiya program. This is giving boost to minor irrigation and people who migrated to other places for greener pastures were returning to the villages to take up farming and old professions like fishing and others”, he said.

Previous rulers never bothered about the problems of farmers in the combined State till four years ago, he charged. The minister also took a dig at the Congress regime as they failed to give at least six hours power to farm sector though it promised to supply nine-hour power. Being a farmer, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was always thinking of welfare of the farmers in the State and launched cheques distribution program giving boost to the farm sector and increase agriculture productivity. Though the farmers did not seek, the KCR Government has come up with a unique scheme of providing Rs 4,000 per acre financial succor to the farmers, who are now happy and needless to return the amount, he remarked.

After 86 years, the TRS Government took up the lands cleansing survey in which about 60 lakh of farmers do possess about 1.48 cr acres in the State, he said and slammed the Congress for criticising the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which was benefiting the farmers. “Though the Congress government took pain to give Rs 200 pension to people, our government was giving Rs 1,000 pension”, KTR said. He also said the Telangana State is ideal for the country in terms of Haritha Haram program. “Our target is to irrigate about 1.20 crore acres land and KCR has taken a decision in this regard. There is a need for linking agriculture with employment guarantee scheme. KCR has complete knowledge and understanding on farm sector and taking up steps towards welfare”, he added. (NSS)
