TS emerges No 1 in Health sector: Harish

Telangana is No 1 State in the country in Health sector, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said.

Inaugurating a five-bed single used Dialysis Unit at Zaheerabad Area Hospital here today, Harish said a total of 40 dialysis units are being put in place to provide best health services to the poor. Stating that vacant posts in Health department will be filled soon in the State, Harish said Telangana State was making rapid strides in all sectors, including Health sector. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was determined to provide extensive health services to the people and dialysis units are being set up elsewhere in the State, he remarked.

As per KCR’s directive and Lakshma Reddy’s initiative, the Health department officials were able to provide better and unsurpassed health facilities in the government hospitals, he said. A total of four dialysis units were set up in the old Medak district and will soon launch one in Narayanakhed hospital. This facility, he said, will provide best healthcare to kidney patients to get rid of expenditure and avoid travelling long distances, the minister said.

Harish Rao said it was being planned to provide free bus passes to kidney patients to help them avoid the disease. He also said arrangements were being made for a 50-bed hospital for mother and child care in Zaheerabad and 50-bed hospital in Kohir area by taking up the issue with the Chief Minister. Appreciating the doctors and medical staff for their dedicated services, he asked them to improve further and provide unmatched health services to the poor. He stressed the need to increase the rate of natural deliveries in Zaheerabad, he said, adding that KCR Kits scheme was proving handy as the pregnant women were preferring the government hospitals than the private ones.
