The Telangana State Government today conducted Babu Jagjivan Ram’s 111th Birth Anniversary on a grand scale. Officials paid floral tributes to Jagjivan Ram on the occasion in the capital city and all districts. SC Development and Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy paid rich tributes to Jagjivan Ram after garlanding his statue at Basheerbagh crossroads on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister recalled the services of Jagjivan Ram, who served the nation in various capacities and made relentless efforts for the cause of the downtrodden. His ideals were being emulated by the State government and other States should follow suit, he said. He also attributed the launch of several schemes of welfare in Telangana by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to Jagjivan Ram’s ideals. The TRS Government was spending huge sums for the SCs, STs and Minorities.
Council Chairman Swamy Goud, Speaker S Madhusudana Chary and others participated in the program and paid floral tributes to the leader of the masses. (NSS)
