The Telangana Government on Wednesday decided to increase the unit cost of each house/flat under 2 Bed Room Housing Programme in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area.
The unit cost has been increased from Rs.5.30 Lakh to Rs. 7 Lakhs, an increase of Rs. 1.70 Lakh for each house/flat. This will put an additional burden of Rs. 145.52 Crores on the GHMC. Of Rs. 7 lakh, the State Government subsidy will be of Rs. 3.80 lakh while Government of India contribution under Housing for All scheme will be Rs. 1.50 lakh. The remaining Rs. 1.70 lakh cots will be borne by the GHMC. (INN)
