Hyderabad: On the occasion of Christmas, Govt. of Telangana has decided to distribute gift packets to poor Christians in all the 119 Assembly constituencies.
Mr. A.K. Khan, IPS (Rtd.), Advisor to Govt. on Minority Affairs convened a meeting of higher officials of the Dept. and reviewed the arrangements for celebrating Christmas at official level.
Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, Director, Dept. of Minorities Welfare informed that the main function will be held at Lal Bahadur Stadium, Fateh Maidan. Govt. sanctioned Rs. 23 crore for this purpose. It has been decided to spend Rs.18 crore for purchasing garments.
Christmas dinner will be arranged for two lakh persons for which Rs. 4 crore have been allocated.
