TS signs MoUs for Rs 7200-cr Mega Food Park at Zaheerabad & others

As part of World Food India program in Delhi, Telangana State Government struck deals with 13 noted companies and businessmen for an investment of Rs 7,200-crore, including a Rs 2,500 crore Mega Food Processing Zone in Medak districtSpeaking to mediapersons after signing the deal with the companies, IT & Industries Minister K T Rama Rao said the Union Food Processing and industries wing and CII have jointly conducted the event for promoting business and industries. Stating that India is agrarian nation and efforts will be made to double the income of the farmers, KTR said the deal would boost industrial expansion at national and State-levels

The South Agro Polis came forward to invest Rs 2,500 crore for Food processing zone that will come up in 300 acres in Zaheerabad and Rs 3,500 crore to be invested for farm producing organization to provide gainful employment to 25,000 farmers. “This will have maize, paddy and sugar cane processing units and a German-based company signed the deal.

 

Ministers T Harish Rao and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will hold a meeting for this, he said. Germany Agry Business Alliance and Telangana Food Processing Society have signed another deal, he said, adding that Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal launched the food policy in the conference. Noted snacks and food companies signed Memorandum of Understanding with the government, including Bikaneerwala, Prayag Nutri Products, Annapurna Foods of Kanoria Group, Karachi Bakery, Blue Craft Agro, Sampre Group, Creamline Dairy, Pushpa Foods and others. He said some 3,800 jobs will be created directly and another 20,000 people would get employment indirectly through these agreements

 

Seri Infra will offer training on latest farm practices and skills to 20,000 farmers, Nutrimmense Foods will process three lakh liters of milk everyday in Telangana, Bluecraft will start industry by taking over Gayatri Bio Organics at Sanga Reddy and invest Rs 200 crore, the minister said. He also said income of farmers will be doubled from Rs 1.28 lakh in five years.

KTR said this will be possible through use of water resources projects, food processing units, increasing farm produce efficiency and milk revolution. Telangana is first in the country in implementing e-Nam program connected to 84 agriculture markets and prevent middlemen in a transparent manner. Claiming that 30,000 lakes and water bodies have been modernized through revival program to develop Aqua sector, he said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao could not attend the program as he was busy with the Assembly winter session. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu takes initiative to attract investments, he said, adding that though we ignore small companies sometimes, Naidu will not leave even that, he added.
