TTDP chief asks party leaders to strive for big win in panchayat polls

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP president L. Ramana on Saturday held a teleconference with party leaders from different districts of the State ahead of the upcoming gram panchayat elections. He asked the party leaders to prepare strategies and go ahead with them to ensure victory of as many party supporters as possible in the elections.

Ramana also alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao-led government had diluted the powers of village Panchayats in the State. He also alleged that the KCR Government was delaying implementation of its promise to enhance pensions of old age people from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,016 even after coming to power. He said the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh Government led by Chandrababu Naidu had not only enhanced the pension of the beneficiaries, but also began to credit the amounts into the accounts of the beneficiaries from January 2019.

Commenting on the functioning of EVMs used in the recent Assembly elections, Ramana reiterated that they still have doubts about the performance of EVMs.
