Turbo Megha Airways get flying license under UDAN scheme

Hyderabad: Turbo Megha Airways has become the first private airline to get flying license under UDAN scheme. Under this scheme, Govt. provides subsidy to the airlines for domestic flights.

The airlines had stated last month that it would start domestic flights from Hyderabad to Kadapa, Hyderabad to Nanded and Hyderabad to Mumbai.

The spokesman of Director General of Civil Aviation informed that Turbo Megha is the first private airlines which got this certificate. Earlier, it was given permission to fly planes at domestic levels but now it has been permitted to cover Metro cities also. True jet is one of the five operators under UDAN scheme which has been allotted 128 routes. This airline will use 3ATR – 72 aircraft. Later, it will add more planes.

It may be mentioned that Mr. Modi had announced UDAN scheme to expand air routes in the country for which subsidy is being provided.
