MUMBAI: Newlywed Television actor Shoaib Ibrahim who kept mum on wife Dipika Kakar’s conversion to Islam finally broken his silence on the issue.

In a recent interview to Indian Express, the actor told, “Trust me, both of us are just not bothered about what people say. We know we haven’t done any wrong and so we don’t focus on this negativity. When there’s low in our lives, do these people come as a saviour? No, so who has given them the right to talk about us. Our marriage was so beautiful that some haters decided to pick a subject to demean it, but it really didn’t affect us.”

He went on to say, “I really cant express it in words but there’s a constant happy feeling. Now when you get late at work, you feel bad and want to rush home.”

The favourite telly couple met on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka and recently got married on February 22, 2018, in a traditional Muslim wedding in Shoaib’s hometown of Bhopal.

Dipika, who rose to fame as the leading lady in popular TV show Sasural Simar Ka had accepted that she had converted and changed her name to Faiza and also clarified that it was her ‘personal decision’.

“Definitely, it is true and I am not denying it. I am very happy and proud that I have done it for myself and my happiness. My family was with me in this decision and my intentions were to hurt anyone. This is my decision.”
