Two Delhi cops suspended for graft

New Delhi: Two police personnel were suspended for allegedly demanding a bribe from an arms dealer, police said today.

The SHO at the Vijay Vihar police station and a sub- inspector had demanded Rs 15 lakh from a man, who was caught with an illegal Glock pistol, they said.

They had assured the man of getting him some relief in the case, police said.

But when the policemen could not get him the entire relief they had promised, the man approached the vigilance department, they said.
The sub-inspector, who is currently posted with the Ashok Vihar police station, was then at Vijay Vihar.

The police personnel were suspended yesterday after an inquiry.
