Hyderabad: The Task Force personnel, along with Chandrayangutta police unearthed an Interstate fake currency racket involved in circulating Fake Indian Currency and apprehended two suspects, seized fake Indian currency valued at Rs 3.98 lakh and a two wheeler from the possession of accused.
The accused were identified as Mohd Ghouse alias Bomb Ghouse, 48, a rowdy sheeter and fruit vendor of Mohammednagar, Talabkatta and Rabiul Sekh, 22, Krishnapur Munshihova, Malda district, West Bengal. However, third accused Ameenul Rehman alias Bablu, 32, of Malda district of West Bengal was absconding.
Police said Mohd Ghouse was involved in circulating fake Indian currency
since 2011 and was arrested in 12 cases in Hyderabad City and one case each in Vijayawada and Vizag Cities. Lastly, he was arrested from Charminar P.S in 2016. While in Jail, he facilitated circulation of fake currency through Ameenul Rehman alias Bablu of Malda and was again arrested by Bhavanipuram P.S of Vijayawada and Vizag IV Town.
After his release on bail on January 12, Ghouse planned to restart his business of circulating fake currency. He went to Rajahmundry Central Jail on January 19 and met his co-accused Suraj Shaik of Malda and Ameenul Rehman of Vijayawada. While both Ghouse and Rabiul Sekh were trying to exchange fake currency notes in Hashamabad area under Chandrayanagutta police limits, they were nabbed by the police. The seized currency has all the features of the original currency notes, police added.
