UAE, Italy discuss security cooperation

Rome: The UAE ambassador to Italy has met the General Commander of the Italian military force in a bid to enhance security cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, UAE ambassador Saqr Nasser Al Raisi emphasised on his country’s keenness to work with friendly countries in all fields, especially enhancing international security and community safety, the agency report said on Monday.

Al Raisi also praised the distinguished relations between the Italian force and the United Arab Emirates’ police, pointing out to the continued cooperation with them across various sectors.

On his part, General Commander Giovanni Nistri reaffirmed the eagerness of Italy to strengthen its bilateral relations with the UAE.

He also said that the permanent participation of the Carabinieri (Italian military force) in events, conferences and exhibitions in the UAE was an indication of the importance and the level of appreciation accorded to them.

Al Raisi and Nistri also discussed mutual cooperation in the field of conservation and preservation of heritage.
