Dubai: It seems that the UAE is also facing a rise in the number of crime against women. In one such incident, a man groped a 14-year-old school girl at a Metro Station in Dubai.
According to the report published in Khaleej Times, on Wednesday, the court sent him to jail for six months for committing the crime.
As per the details, prosecutors said that the man had touched the girl when she was walking at the Metro Station in Dubai.
On the other hand, the man denied the charges and said that he touched her by mistake.
Giving the details of the incident, the police officer informed prosecutor that when the matter came into the notice of police, he had questioned the accused. The officer further said that the accused had accepted his mistake.
The officer also recalled that the victim was crying while giving the details of the incident.
It may be mentioned that during the investigation, the victim said that after the man committed the crime, she went to ticketing officer to report the incident.
In the CCTV footage, the man was seen touching the girl.
After reviewing all the evidence, the court has sent him to jail and imposed a fine of Dh 2000.
