Dubai: Court sentenced a 24-year-year Emirati man to life in prison for raping a 23-year-old student after luring her into his villa.
According to the report published in Khaleej Times, Dubai Court pronounced this verdict on Wednesday.
It may be mentioned that the heinous crime had taken place on 24th June 2018.
As per the records of public prosecution, the man had raped Egyptian student in his villa in the International City. He had also recorded the video of the crime.
The Dubai Court of First Instance held him guilty and sent him to jail for 25 years.
Recalling the ordeal, the student said that the man had asked her to visit the villa as he wanted to say something. However, when she reached the villa, the man started demanding sex. When she rejected his demand, he started assaulting her.
The victim had accepted that she used to visit the villa as the man used to throw parties. However, on the day when the crime took place, the man called the victim under the pretext of reconciling between her and his friend, a police lieutenant said.
It was also revealed that the victim had a consensual sexual relationship with the man’s friend.
Meanwhile, the man alleged that he had consensual sex with the victim. He further alleged that he assaulted her after she took his envelope containing Dh 50,000.
On the other hand, the forensic report supports the claim of the victim.
The case of all the three persons was referred to the Court of Misdemeanors.
