Upset with Cong delay, CPI to fight it alone

Hyderabad: Unable to digest inordinate delay in seat sharing by the Congress as part of Mahakutami, the CPI plans to rope in independently into the poll fray. Despite repeated and prolonged talks for about two weeks, the Congress leaders failed to come to a conclusion that added to the chagrin of the CPI. Unhappy with the Congress, CPI State secretary and former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy said they would field candidates independently in the poll fray.

Delay in the seat sharing among the allies will send wrong signals among the people. “We urged the Congress to give nine seats and inclined to reduce it by two or three seats, he said. However, the CPI plans to come up with plan B to field the candidates as independents as the Congress was yet to finalize terms.

The Congress reportedly agreed to give 11 seats to the TJS and yet to finalize the seats to be given to the CPI. As a result, the CPI will be contesting nine seats including Kothagudem, Vyra, Husnabad, Bellampally, Aler, Munugode, Pinapaka, Mancherial and Devarakonda.
