New Delhi: The annual award distribution function of Urdu Academy Delhi was held at Delhi Secretariat auditorium. Minister for Social Welfare Rajendra Pal Gautam attended as chief guest, while Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Imran Hussain was the guest of honour. Former Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia Syed Shahid Mehdi presided over the function.
Awards were given to the authors of the books published during 2016-17. Awardees were presented cash prize and a memento.
Vice Chairman Urdu Academy Prof Shehpar Rasool said books are the jewels of education.
