Hyderabad: Mr. Shahabuddin Hashmi, Bureau Chief of Siasat Urdu Daily delivered a lecture at Siasat Golden Jubilee Hall to provide guidance to the candidates appearing for Urdu Officers (translators). He advised the candidates to gain proficiency in Urdu, Telugu and English.
It may be mentioned that CM of TS, Mr. KCR sanctioned 66 permanent posts of Urdu Officers Grade I and II for working in Collectorates of the districts and other offices of Heads of Departments. The function of these officers would be to translate applications submitted in Urdu or Telugu into English or vice versa.
Dept. of Minorities Welfare had issued notification for online registration of applications. Telangana State Urdu Academy was nominated as the nodal agency to arrange the recruitment of Urdu officers which in turn entrusted this job to JNTU.
It is reported that nearly 5500 candidates have applied for 66 posts. The written test comprises objective type and essay type questions.
