Urooj’s murder: Muneer was ‘inspired’ by ‘Crime Patrol’

Hyderabad: Muneer who kidnapped a 12-year-old boy Mohammed Uroojuddin for ransom and later, not gathering courage to demand it, killed the boy, was actually inspired by the TV serial ‘Crime Patrol’.

As reported by the Times of India, Muneer a B.Com student from old city of Hyderabad, did not miss to watch Crime Patrol, a serial on an entertainment channel popularly known for narrating crime stories in a gripping manner. He allegedly got inspired by the same to conspire and kidnap Urooj for a ransom of Rs 25 lakhs. Later when he failed to execute his plan to make the ransom call, he ended up throttling the boy to death.

It must be recalled that Mohammed Uroojuddin went missing on April 28 and his family members lodged a missing complaint in Chandrayangutta police station. Six days later police found that he was murdered by 21-year-old Muneer, who happened to be his neighbour.

Muneer had killed Uroojuddin by throttling and later dumped the body into Milath colony Talab. During the confession, Muneer said that it was Crime Patrol serial, which inspired him to conspire for this kidnap for ransom and murder conspiracy.
