Washington: Backing Israel on its latest accusation on Iran, US said the evidences found by the Israel are new and convincing.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in a press conference had claimed that Israel has found thousands of such “Secret nuclear files” which show that Iran is preparing nuclear weapons. Israel intelligence has claimed that it has found government files, maps, blueprints, photos and videos in the secret files which belong to Iran nuclear programme. Israel has given access to the US to the files as well; and announced that it will provide the files to other western countries and world forces in order to expose Iran’s ‘dual policy’.
In a statement, the White House said Israel’s information provided “new and compelling details” about Iran’s alleged efforts to develop “missile-deliverable nuclear weapons”.
The US statement said: “These facts are consistent with what the US has long known – Iran had a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons programme that it has tried and failed to hide from the world and from its own people.”
