Uttam may not retain TPCC Chief: TRS

TRS leadership today criticized the Opposition Congress for its rhetoric against the Rythu Bandhu scheme and the farmers’ insurance scheme. Utham Kumar Reddy may not retain the post as the party high command was not happy with his performance, the TRS leadership alleged.

Addressing the media today, ruling party MLC Ramulu Naik accused the Congress of indulging in carrying out misinformation campaign on the welfare schemes. “We find happiness in the eyes of the farmers while those of the Congress leaders got gloomy, he said. The MLC charged that the Congress leaders, who are confined to their party office, are resorting to mud-slinging at the ruling party for publicity sake. Farmers Insurance scheme will lead to a golden era in the State as LIC Chief VK Sharma appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Ramulu Naik said internal squabbles in the Congress have cropped up once again with Komatireddy Venkat Reddy seeking resignations of all the party MLAs. He said the farmers are happy with insurance of Rs 5 lakh announced by the Chief Minister and also for getting Rs 8000 per acre crop investment per year. Congress was getting envious over welfare schemes reaching out to the farmers, he fumed.

The previous governments did not bother to launch any scheme for welfare of farmers, the poor and other unfortunate sections, he charged. The TRS Government launched several schemes and cheques scheme will prevent suicides by farmers, he hoped. It was history in the country that only the Telangana Chief Minister has launched such a unique scheme of giving financial assistance to the farmers, Ramulu Naik claimed. (NSS)
