Uttam pauses speech during “Azaan” in Old City of Hyderabad, applauded

Hyderabad: President of Telangana State Congress, Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy paused his speech while addressing an election gathering organized by Jamiatul Ulema, Telangana in Old City of Hyderabad yesterday.

He resumed the speech after the completion of “Azaan”. This gesture of Capt. Reddy was applauded by the audience.

During his speech, Capt. Reddy told that he belongs to Old City of Hyderabad. He was born at Nizamia Unani General Hospital, Charminar. He was brought up in the company of the Muslims. He is well versed with the rituals and ceremonies of the Muslims.

Citing the experience of his service, Capt. Reddy told that he served the army for a period of 15 years. He was posted both at India-Pak and India-China borders. He served as Special Officer with former Presidents of India, Mr. R. Venkataraman and Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma. Later, he relinquished the post with an intention to serve people and joined Congress.
