Uttam slams KCR for lending support to anti-Muslim Ramnath Kovind

Opining that extending support to the NDA’s presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind, who opposed reservations to the Minorities, by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was an injustice to Muslims, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that Ramnath Kovind opposed Ranganath Mishra report, which proposed 10 percent reservations to Muslims and five percent reservations to Christians in jobs.

Speaking to the media here on Friday along with Union former Minister S Jaipal Reddy, former MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, Mallu Ravi and others, Uttam faulted the Chief Minister for extending support to Ramnath Kovind. He exhorted the Telangana MPs to cast their vote as per their conscience.

Opining that the presidential election was not a competition between two people, Jaipal Reddy said former Speaker of Lok Sabha Miera Kumar was a honest person and a spirit of Constitution. Whereas  Ramnath Kovind is an underground person. “I didn’t see him though he was a Rajya Sabha member for two terms. Kovind has learnt political lessons in RSS School. It is dangerous to the nation as such a person sits in the President’s post”, he wondered.

Jaipal Reddy said Miera Kumar was not only daughter of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjeevan Ram but also a talented person. He charged Chief Minister KCR with entering into a dark deal with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. KCR extended support to the Prime Minister much before announcing the name of Presidential candidate by the NDA, he said and asked KCR on what reason he has extended support to NDA’s candidate, he said.
