Uttarakhand police raid Imam’s house, misbehave with ladies

Muzaffarnagar: Uttarakhand police raided the house of Shahi Imam of Muzaffarnagar without a search warrant and misbehaved with the ladies of the house. Anger prevails among Muslims because of the inhuman and illegal act of the police

Muzaffarnagar Shahi Imam Mohammed Zakir Qasmi is among the Qazis of the masjid. A team of Uttarakhand police led by SI Vijay Kumar barged into the house of Imam during his absence without any search warrant.

The incident sparks anger among Muslims. Officials of Jamiat Ulama Muzaffar Nagar and other social organisations gathered on the spot. Soon the situation became volatile.

General Secretary Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind and former MP Maulana Madani termed it open rowdyism.

Police were in search of absconding accused Mohammed alias Assu who had gone from here after selling his house. The house had the nameplate of Maulana but still, the police ignored it and raided the house while misbehaving with the ladies.
