Vadnagar welcomes PM Modi on second day of Gujarat visit

Vadnagar: On the second day of his visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his birthplace and hometown Vadnagar in Mehasana district and held a road show amid loud cheers by the crowd, on Sunday.

Vadnagar made elaborate arrangements to celebrate and welcome the prime minister in his own hometown after a five-year gap, the first ever since he assumed the office of the prime minister of the nation.

Prime Minister Modi earlier visited the Hatkeshwar Temple and offered prayers there.

The Prime Minister visited his school as well in Vadnagar.

He dedicated Vadnagar’s GMERS Medical College to the nation, in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and Union Minister J.P. Nadda.

He will also address a public meeting here today.

Prime Minister will now launch the Intensified Mission Indradhanush, to accelerate progress towards the goal of full immunisation coverage. The mission will provide greater focus on urban areas and other pockets of low immunization coverage.

The Prime Minister will also distribute e-tablets to health workers to mark the launch of ImTeCHO (Innovative mobile-phone Technology for Community Health Operations).

Prime Minister Modi is also set to flag off the Antyodaya Express between Udhna (Surat, Gujarat), and Jaynagar (Bihar). He will also unveil plaques to mark the laying of foundation stone, and the inauguration of various plants of Gujarat Narmada Fertiliser Corporation.

He will also address a public meeting there before returning to Delhi. (ANI)
