Vajpayee was ‘unparalleled’, says Yashwant Sinha

New Delhi: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha on Thursday condoled the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

“He was unparalleled. There was nobody like him. Was fortunate to have worked closely with him under his guidance,” Yashwant Sinha, who was a minister in Vajpayee’s government, said in a tweet.

Actor-turned-politician and MP Shatrughan Sinha, who was also a Minister in the cabinet of Vajpayee, hailed the former Prime Minister for his humour, wisdom and eloquence.

“End of an Era… What an excellent human being! One of the greatest Parliamentarians, an exemplary orator and exceptional three-time PM of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee is no more! An intellectual par excellence, man with tremendous wisdom, a fantastic sense of humour and kind hearted poet.

“As this most revered and respected institution leaves us, a real Father figure has gone. I feel orphaned in the true sense… We shall always remember you and miss your guidance on the correct path of life. I humbly offer my prayers and heartfelt condolence to the family and loved ones,” he said on Twitter.

Vajpayee passed away here at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness.
