Van Gaal demands Man U players to cope up with pressure

Johannesburg : Under-fire Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has asked his players to improve and cope with the pressure of performing at Old Trafford after they scraped to a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

Admitting that his side needs to tackle the pressure, Van Gaal said that players for Manchester United have to cope with the pressure of the fans and the media, adding that it was the same for the manager, Sport24 reported.

He added that pressure could have an influence but when they were playing for Manchester United, then had to cope up with that.

The Dutchman, however, added that it was not only frustrating for the staff, but for the players, as well as everybody.

Manchester United, who have now won back-to-back games after an eight-match winless run, will hope that this is the start of a run that will bring them first FA Cup success since 2004.

However, Van Gaal knows there is still room for improvement.

Earlier, Van Gaal’s job came under scrutiny following his side’s repeated poor performances in the Premier League and early exit from the Champions League. (ANI)
