Veteran actor Kader Khan critical

MUMBAI: Veteran actor Kader Khan has been admitted to hospital overseas and is reportedly critical.

According to a report in News18, the actor complained of breathlessness and was shifted from a normal ventilator to a special BiPAP ventilator.

The actor, who has been currently stationed in Canada with his son Sarfaraz and daughter-in-law Shahista shows symptoms of pneumonia.

In 2017, he also underwent surgeries in his knees. “The surgery did not go wrong. It was just that my father refused to get up after the surgery. We were told that he has to make an effort and try to start walking from the next day. He just didn’t do that and…” Sarfaraz has been quoted as saying.

The cinema thespian suffers from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a degenerative disease involving slow deterioration that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking, moving the eyes and dementia.

Bollywood actor and friend Shakti Kapoor had told Spotboye, “Yes, Kader Khan is now on a wheelchair. It’s so so sad to be talking about this…”

Khan has regaled the audience with his comic side in films like “Himmatwala”, “Aankhen” and “Coolie No.1” Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Akhiyon Se Goli Maare, Aunty No. 1 and Judwaa among others.
