VH Wants TS Govt to impose Ban on ‘Arjun Reddy’ film

Alleging that youth were being spoiled by watching ‘Arjun Reddy’ film, Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao bemoaned that the doctors will offer treatment while having liquor, after seeing this film, in which the doctor treats his patients while having liquor. In Arjun Reddy film, a doctor admits that he served 300 patients while having liquor, VH said.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, VH said that the doctors in real life too will be polluted after seeing the film. He asked IT Minister KT Ramarao to tell as to what message he wants to give regarding a film like Arjun Reddy. He alleged that KTR praised Arjun Reddy film hero Vijay Deverakonda only because he was his relative. He said that he lodged a complaint with the film Censor Board and also the City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy demanding ban on the film. He said that the characters have drugs indiscriminately in Arjun Reddy film, while the Excise and Enforcement police were inquiring into the use of drugs by film personalities.

In Arjun Reddy film, one character indulges in ragging and makes a girl pregnant before marriage. He asked the film producers to tell as to what message they wanted to give to the society through the film. He asked the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to watch the film and initiate action against the film crew. He asked KTR, who spoke in an encouraging manner about the character which takes heavy drugs in the film, to tell as to why he was speaking in that manner and why the same people were  initiating action against  persons having drugs in reality. He demanded the state government to stop screening the film immediately. (NSS)
