Vigilance cell to probe into illegal hoardings: Mayor

City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has said city vigilance cell would conduct an inquiry into the illegal hoardings and setting up of bus shelters under GHMC limits.

The decision was taken in the standing committee meeting held here today. The meeting discussed various issues. The Mayor said there were 330 illegal hoardings in the city and tenders have been called for removal of these hoardings. The meeting also requested GHMC Commissioner to conduct an inquiry on the illegal hoardings erected without permission and initiate action against those who were responsible for the act.

He said local MLA and corporators have recommended setting up of a statue of late Singireddy Srinvias Reddy in two parks and two communication halls in Saidabad.

The standing committee passed 10 resolutions, including appointment of 175 work Inspectors on outsourcing basis for working in double bed room schemes. The meeting also gave its nod to appoint 977 drivers, 1,537 workers on contact basis for three years. (NSS)
