Vine sequel postponed for ‘indefinite time’

New York: Vine co-founder Dom Hofmann has announced that the service’s sequel, called v2, has been postponed for an ‘indefinite amount of time’.

Vine, the now-defunct service, allowed users to create short looping video clips. Hofmann took to Twitter to announce the delay of the sequel.

The reason for the delay is said to be funding and logistical issues, The Verge reported.

When Hofmann announced the v2 project last year, he said it was without a plan, and projected for a summer release this year.

However, despite the interest from original Vine fans, Hofmann is taking the time to work out the funding to release v2.

Meanwhile, the v2 forums online will continue to run for discussions from the community and future announcements regarding the Vine successor. (ANI)
