Violent clashes erupt between two groups, section 144 imposed in the area

Patna: District Administration was forced to impose section 144 of CrPC after violent clashes erupted between the two groups in Sitamarhi Town, Bihar.

According to the report published in India Today, these clashes broke out in the morning of 20th October. The dispute arose on immersion of Durga idol.

The town was tense since Friday. On 20th October, the clashes finally broke out between the two groups. Due to the stone pelting incident, a few persons got injured. During the clashes, police vehicles also got damaged.

In order to bring the situation under control, police fired shots in the air. After the incident, heavy police force was deployed in the area.

Police force moved into Sitamarhi Town from the neighbouring districts of Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga.
