Wakf Board appoints Ahmed Nawaz Khan as Mutawalli of masjid and Eidgah Gutla Begumpet

Hyderabad: Telangana State Wakf Board in its meeting held on Thursday appointed Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan as Mutawalli of Masjid Alamgir and Eidgah Gutla Begumpet in view of his generous donation of Rs. 5 crore for the construction of Alamgir masjid. This appointment is for three years.

It may be mentioned that on the advice of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan had accepted the responsibility of the construction of Alamgir Masjid and Eidgah Gutla Begumpet with an expenditure of Rs. 5 crore.

This Masjid accommodates 70000 worshippers at a time. On the first floor, it has facilities for ablution and has 12 rooms for accommodating the imam and muazzin of the masjid.

Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan has also taken the responsibility to pay the salaries of Imam and Muazzin without collecting donations from anyone.
