Wakf Board office sealed, CM issues orders

Hyderabad: For the first time in the history of Wakf Board, a Chief Minister took personal interested and instructed the revenue officials to seal the record section of Wakf Board. It was reported that in order to find out irregularities in wakf records about its properties, CM instructed Collector of Hyderabad, Ms. Yogita Rana to seal all the records of Wakf Board.

CM took this drastic action after discussing wakf issues for four hours in a review meeting held on Tuesday 7th November. Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare and CEO of Wakf Board failed to reply to the questions put forth by the CM. Mr. KCR expressed his wrath on Wakf Board Officials and ordered to seal the record section. A team of high-level officials will review the records and submit a report to the Govt.

Mr. Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM apprised the CM about the wakf properties. However, it was felt that the record produced by Wakf Board is not sufficient. CM observed that the records should depict mandal wise wakf properties, their income and linked documents without which these records will not be acceptable to revenue officials. CM also hinted at the cancellation of illegal possessions of wakf properties.
