Wasim Rizvi’s ‘Ram Ki Janmabhoomi’ a biggest flop

New Delhi: Secular people of the country vehemently rejected the film, Ram Ki Janmabhoomi that aimed at creating the atmosphere of hate and promoting polarisation politics. Keeping in view the public response, film distributors and many theatre owners have pulled out; as a result, the film had fewer screening in UP.

The film could not be screened except for two or three theatres in a couple of districts in Gujarat. Film director and Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board Chief Waseem Rizvi received a big jolt. He had received similar jolt when he had to withdraw the film from YouTube when he had released the film on YouTube without censor Board’s permission.

The film was screened in only one theatre in Mumbai that too just for a single show. Similarly the film was released in only one theatre in Ahmedabad for 3 shows. It was neither released in Bihar nor in other states. According to a report, the film was also disappeared from Book My Show.

The film was caught in a web of controversies due to many reasons. The film had matter that could disrupt peace of the country. The film also included the issue of triple talaq which has nothing to do with Ram Janmabhoomi.

The film was made against the backdrop of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute and was shot extensively in Ayodhya.
